Flourish is building 15 homes just outside Gainesville for adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. You can buy a home here, or rent a room in a shared home as a roommate.
What happens when we can’t care for them anymore?
Every parent of an adult with an intellectual disability carries that question. Flourish is our answer: a safe, welcoming neighborhood where adults with disabilities live as neighbors, and their families can live right alongside them. We’re not just building houses. We’re building a place to belong.
Residences
There are two ways to make Flourish home.

Buy a home
Own one of the 15 homes. Parents can live here too, right alongside their son or daughter.

Be a roommate
Rent a private room in a shared home, with the whole community just outside the door.
Community Life
Everyone here knows your son or daughter by name.
Life at Flourish is built around people, with shared meals, a clubhouse to gather in, a garden to tend, and Community Directors who know every resident. Each person’s care plan is built around them.

Community Directors
Meet Ken and Kelly, our Community Directors.
Since 2011, Ken and Kelly Mitchell have served people with disabilities and their families in Hall County through Stable Life, their ministry in Gainesville. At Flourish they’ll know every resident, plan the social life of the neighborhood, work with caretakers and families, and help each family find the care and resources that fit.

Why Flourish
Seth Barnes Jr. started Flourish for his sister, Leah.
For years Seth prayed for Leah to be healed. But one day that all changed. “I felt like God told me it’s not for lack of love that I made Leah the way that I did.” It transformed how he saw her: “She doesn’t need to be fixed. God created her intentionally.”
Leah has a contribution to make, and so do people like her. Flourish starts with meeting their biggest need, a place to belong, so they can find their purpose too.
